Ok, so last year in mid May, I came upon an auction site for military equipment, vehicles, etc. After looking around I thought “Hmmm... let’s place a bid on a HMMWV” (for those of you that don’t know, that is the military acronym for a High Mobility Multipurpouse Wheeled Vehicle or a Hummvee). Well much to my chagrin, I won the damn thing! And there are no take-backs!
A couple of days later... I told my wife. I am happy to say that a year later, I am still alive. Barely...
Now everything is paid and the ready to go right?! Wrong. Now, I have to go through a 3-month process of getting background checked, certifications filled out, affidavits signed, release of liability completed and an end user certification approval. Trying to keep myself motivated and in a positive spirit, i began to look for other items to compliment my new investment. I found a set of tires with rims on auction and won those. They were located in Missouri and fortunately, i had some employees in the area and had them pic up my new set of wheels!

I also got a keys ignition (the stock version is just a toggle switch). I had that mailed to me.
Now September 2017 and I can pick the thing up! So I went to Fort Custer in Battle Creek, MI and brought my paperwork and picked up the HMMWV. I took it to a local self-storage facility, put in a garage, locked it and left it there all winter.
Flash forward to May 2018. I decided to finally pick my baby up from storage! I had a project that I had to visit in Holland, MI so I decided to call a hauling company and had them bring it to my office.
Since then we’ve been having fun just driving it over the berm or in the empty field on out property but now... it’s time to get serious!
